Kate Kavanagh combines her experience as
a professional cook with her love of pottery, ancient and modern, to create unique designs for baking and entertaining.
Kate began her ceramic education years ago at Rhode Island College and continued more recently at CCRI, RISD and UMass
Dartmouth.
Kate is currently making mainly
low fire earthenware on the wheel to suit her favorite foods. The result is functional dishware coupled
with the recipes for which they can be used. Examples include: small pitchers with recipes for hot chocolate and butterscotch
sauce, large casseroles for blackberry slump, apple crisp and Indian pudding, and appetizer servers featuring goat cheese
in vine leaves and Japanese beef rolls. Kate’s creations are fun for your own use and make excellent,
handcrafted gifts as well.
Kate's Pottery is a one person business. This website is an on line cataloge of her standard items. All
items are not in stock at all times and in all colors. Small orders of items not in stock can generally be accomodated
within six weeks. Kate has a small showroom which holds her current stock and many items not on the website. Simply
email or call kate to browse the showroom!
